Hubert Lewis (nickname 'Stokey Lewis')  was born in Wales and enlisted at the beginning of the war, which he survived despite seeing fierce action in Salonika. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery.
Hubert (Stokey) died in February 1977  at the age of 80 and is buried in Milford Haven Cemetery, Wales.
